Why RowDex exists
Full-stack developers routinely juggle pgAdmin for Postgres, Redis Insight for cache keys, Bull Board for queue jobs, and MongoDB Compass for documents — plus another tab when they need AI help writing SQL. RowDex puts those workflows in one native app so context switching stops eating your day.
What makes it different
RowDex is built with Tauri (Rust + native webview), not Electron — so installers stay small and idle RAM stays low. BullMQ monitoring is built into the same Redis connections you already use. Credentials live in your OS keychain, and the optional AI assistant drafts read-only SQL using your own OpenAI key — it never auto-runs queries.
Who built it
RowDex was founded by Riajul Islam to solve the tab chaos he faced daily as a backend engineer. RowDex (rowdex.app) is an independent product focused on database tooling for developers — not affiliated with other companies using the RowDex name.
