Keyboard shortcuts

Every RowDex keyboard shortcut for macOS, Windows and Linux, with a searchable table. Learn the defaults and how to rebind any of them.

RowDex is designed to be driven from the keyboard. The table below shows the defaults. The keys follow your operating system, and you can switch between macOS and Windows or Linux with the toggle in the top bar.

Default shortcuts

Query

  • Run queryRuns the selection, or the statement under the cursor
  • Run all statements
  • Save query
  • Format SQL

Workspace

  • Command palette
  • New connection
  • Toggle sidebar
  • Toggle AI assistant
  • Close tab
  • Toggle full screen

App

  • Open preferences
  • Send feedback

Grid shortcuts#

These work when the results grid has focus:

ActionShortcut
Edit the selected cellF2, or click it
Set the selected cell to NULLBackspace
Save pending changes
Undo a grid change
Redo
Clone selected rows
Copy the selected cell
Discard a new-row draftEsc

Rebind a shortcut#

  1. Open Preferences

    Press , then choose the Shortcuts tab.

  2. Record a new combination

    Click the shortcut you want to change, then press the keys you would like to use instead. RowDex warns you if another action already uses that combination.

  3. Reset if needed

    Reset a single shortcut to its default, or restore all defaults at once.
