Move data in and out of your database without writing a script.

Export results#

Use the export menu above the grid to save the current result. The formats are:

FormatBest for
CSVSpreadsheets and other tools.
TSVPasting into a spreadsheet; tab-separated.
JSONAn array of row objects for scripts and APIs.
MarkdownPasting a table into docs or an issue.
INSERT SQLRecreating the rows in another database.

Exporting more than one page#

The grid loads one page at a time. When you export, RowDex asks whether to export This page only or the full result set. A full CSV export fetches the remaining pages, up to 100,000 rows. The Export CSV dialog goes further: the database engine runs the query and writes the file, so every row is exported, with options for the delimiter, how NULL is written and whether to include a header row.

Import a CSV into a table#

Map CSV columns to table columns before importing.
  1. Open the importer

Right-click a table in the sidebar and choose Import CSV…. This is available for PostgreSQL-compatible connections.

  2. Pick the file and format

Choose the CSV file, then set the delimiter (comma, semicolon, tab or pipe), whether the first row is a header, and how NULL is written.

  3. Map the columns

Check that each CSV column points at the right table column. Use the preview to confirm the data looks right.

  4. Import

The load runs inside a transaction. If any row fails, for example by breaking a constraint, the whole file is rolled back and nothing is imported.
