Install RowDex
Download and install RowDex on macOS, Windows or Linux, what to expect on first launch, and how updates are delivered.
On this page
RowDex is a small native app built with Tauri. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, and you do not need an account to download it.
Download the installer
Open the download page and choose the build for your operating system. The page highlights the one that matches your computer.
Run the installer
Open the file you downloaded and follow your system's usual install steps. Installers are signed, and notarized on macOS.
Launch RowDex
Open RowDex from your Applications folder, Start menu or app launcher. A short product tour starts the first time you open it.
- Open the downloaded disk image and drag RowDex into Applications.
- Launch it from Launchpad or Spotlight.
- RowDex is notarized by Apple, so it opens without an unidentified-developer warning.
- Run the installer and follow the prompts.
- RowDex appears in the Start menu when it finishes.
- Download the Linux build from the download page when it is offered for your release.
- Install it the way you normally install desktop apps, then launch RowDex from your application menu.
First launch#
The first time RowDex opens it walks you through a short tour: the connections sidebar, how to add or import a connection, the query console, the AI assistant, your account and plan, and the command palette. You can skip it at any time.
Updates#
RowDex checks for new versions in the background. When one is ready it offers to install it from inside the app, so you never need to download an installer again. You can snooze an update prompt if you are in the middle of something.
