Add a Redis connection and RowDex gives you a key browser and a command console, on the same window as your SQL tabs. It replaces a trip to Redis Insight for everyday cache debugging.

Connect#

Choose Redis as the type. Redis uses a password rather than a username, and a database number from 0 to 15. You can paste a redis:// URL, switch on TLS, and tunnel over SSH. See Add a connection and SSH and SSL.

Find keys#

  • Type in Search keys to filter by pattern, such as session:user:*.
  • Keys are grouped by their prefix, so a namespace like cart: collapses into one row.
  • Click Refresh keys to reload the list.

Inspect and edit a key#

Select a key to open it. RowDex shows its type and value and handles strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets and streams. From the key header you can:

  • Edit value and save it.
  • Rename key.
  • Set TTL in seconds, so the key expires.
  • Delete this key.

To add a new key, use the add button, then enter the key name, a value and an optional TTL in seconds.

Delete many keys safely#

Turn on Select keys to delete to tick individual keys, or delete everything under a prefix in one action. RowDex shows how many keys match before you confirm.

The command console#

Type a command such as GET key1 or HGETALL user:42 into the console and run it. The editor autocompletes command names and shows each command's syntax and summary, so you do not need to remember argument order. It also suggests key names from your keyspace.
