LISTEN and NOTIFY
Subscribe to PostgreSQL notification channels, watch payloads arrive in real time and send test notifications from RowDex.
Applications often use NOTIFY to tell each other something changed. The notifications panel lets you listen in, and send your own, without writing a client.
Open the panel
Click Notifications (LISTEN/NOTIFY) in the sidebar toolbar.
Listen to a channel
Type a channel name and click Listen. It appears in the list of subscribed channels. Click the stop button next to a channel to unsubscribe.
Watch messages arrive
Each notification shows its time, channel and payload. Use the filter to narrow by channel or payload text.
Send a test message
Enter a channel and an optional payload and send it. Because you are listening, you will see it come straight back.
Pause stops the log from updating while you read, Clear empties it, and Export as JSON saves what you have captured.
