On this page

The ER diagram draws your tables and the foreign keys between them, so you can see how a schema fits together without reading DDL. It is available for PostgreSQL, Redshift, MySQL, MariaDB and SQLite.

Open it#

Click the ER diagram button in the sidebar toolbar while connected. The diagram is built from the live schema.

Work with large schemas#

When a schema has many tables, a scope switch keeps the diagram readable:

  • Focus: the hub tables and their direct relationships. This is the default for big schemas.
  • Linked: every table that has at least one foreign-key relationship.
  • All: every table.

Use the filter box to find a table or column, the zoom buttons or Fit to screen to frame it, Full screen for room to work, and Refresh after the schema changes.

Export#

Use Export diagram to save it as SVG or PNG. The export shows every column of every table, not the compact cards you see on screen, which makes it suitable for documentation.
