Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about RowDex: supported databases, pricing, free plan limits, privacy, platforms, and how it compares with pgAdmin, DBeaver, TablePlus and others.
Which databases does RowDex support?
PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite, MongoDB and Redis, plus BullMQ queue monitoring on Redis. SSH tunnels and SSL/TLS are built in. SQL Server and CockroachDB are not enabled yet.
Is RowDex free?
Basic is free forever with no card. It includes the SQL engines, Redis and the AI assistant, with limits on connections, saved queries and history. Pro and Lifetime remove the limits and add MongoDB and BullMQ. See Plans and limits.
Which operating systems does it run on?
macOS, Windows and Linux.
Does RowDex send my data anywhere?
Your databases are reached directly from your computer, and credentials stay in your OS keychain. The optional AI assistant sends your question and schema names to the model provider. See Security and privacy.
Can I move over from DBeaver, TablePlus or DataGrip?
Yes. RowDex can scan for those apps, and MySQL Workbench, Sequel Ace, MongoDB Compass, Azure Data Studio and pgAdmin, and import your saved connections. See Import connections.
Is it safe to connect to production?
Mark the connection as production or read-only. RowDex then shows the statements and asks for confirmation before risky writes, and refuses writes on read-only connections.
How do I get support?
Email support@rowdex.app, or press Mod+Shift+K in the app to send feedback with an attachment.
